The PS3 remains an excellent choice for a Blu-ray player with streaming!
They're regularly updating the software to keep it up to date. Blu ray quality is good.
Streaming services include iPlayer, ITV and Ch4, LoveFilm and Netflix. It's got various Sony music and video services (that I've never used).
And you can even play games on it.
It picks up other computers on the network well so you can stream direct, although I've always found there are speed issues.

This would be an entry level option, £100 cheaper than going for a PS3. It has basic streaming - iPlayer etc. It also has YouTube, which for some strange reason isn't on PS3 yet. Nice, if YouTube is your thing. In principal it is upgradeable over the web as it has an ethernet connection.

This would then be the next model up (still in Sony's range). This is 3D ready, and can stream from other devices via DLNA (personally I've never needed to do this, and when I have in practice it's just been to slow). Neither of these have wi-fi built in. It can be added with an extra wi-fi dongle. So you need ethernet close by.
