Something Borrowed

Elliebellx Cornish This is a new film on my list and I really enjoyed it. I found it really funny which surprisingly is rare with 'romcoms' these days. I was surprised that I actually preferred the 'bad' friend as opposed to the character we are supposed to sympathise with (Hudson) but I thought it was brilliantly cast and the story was played out realistically. And of course, it doesn't hurt that there is some eye candy in there! Very Loveable characters & an enjoyable story with a different take on friendship.

Ghost [DVD] [1990]

Elliebellx Cornish This is obviously a classic! I love Patrick Swayze and thought this film was sweet and one that I can watch over and over and still cry at the end when Demi Moore says "Dito".

A Walk To Remember [DVD]

Elliebellx Cornish This is a classic 'bad boy turns good story' and I love it! I grew up watching this film as a teenager and it never gets boring. I admit it does have a sad plot due to the girlfriend having Leukaemia but once the boyfriend becomes 'good' he is so sweet and helps to complete her list of things to before she dies. Overall a great film with two loveable characters.

The Object Of My Affection [1998] [DVD]

Elliebellx Cornish This is one of my favourite films of all time. Both the main characters are played really well and you really want them to have a happy ending. Paul Rudd plays the gay room mate whilst being completely subtle and charismatic (rare these days) whilst Aniston plays Nina, a character unhappy with her life, especially her boyfriend. What happens is heart warming and believe me this is a tear jerker without a cliche ending. I found it totally unpredictable and cried for ages afterwards.

A Lot Like Love [DVD] [2005]

Elliebellx Cornish I love this film! I admit it deals with the cliche subject of friends that fall in love but I found it a breath of fresh air! Both characters are very likeable and they add a humour & warmth to the story that isn't in many other romcoms. It's based over about 10 years and it's interesting to see the characters and their feelings to develop. It also has a great supporting actress in it (Taryn Manning) who is very funny and brings something extra to the film in the very few scenes she's in.
